Welcome to Recast’s Endpoint Management Recap, Vol. 61

by Daniel Engberg

Hello, everyone!

As we kick off 2025, it’s been an exciting yet challenging start to the year. On a personal note, it’s been a bit of a juggling act for me, balancing sick children at home while starting new work projects.

It’s been a slightly quieter month in endpoint management, but there have been several important updates and announcements, including Hotpatch and the launch of the Right Click Tools for Intune browser extension (Free and Enterprise).

I hope you enjoy this edition of the Recast Endpoint Management Recap.

One of this month’s key highlights is the introduction of Hotpatch for Windows 11 Enterprise, version 24H2, now in public preview. Hotpatch lets you install monthly B-release security updates without requiring a system restart.

For context, B release updates, often called “Patch Tuesday” updates, are Microsoft’s regularly scheduled updates released on the second Tuesday of each month. These updates focus on security fixes and cumulative quality improvements. Hotpatch reduces downtime and minimizes disruptions by eliminating the need for reboots.

Hotpatch is not generally available yet, but is currently in public preview if you want to test it out.

endpoint management recap conclusion

We launched a new Right Click Tools for Intune browser extension, giving you familiar device management options inside the Intune web console. With the browser extension, you can run quick device actions, manage kiosks, and see vital security details—without leaving Intune. If you’re moving from ConfigMgr to Intune, it also supports co-managed devices, so you can keep using the workflows you already know. Watch our short video below to learn how to set it up. You can also read more here.

Another milestone: Right Click Tools Community Edition for Intune (free) is now available. Download the free license you need here. It offers many of the same core features you rely on in our ConfigMgr version. Scan for devices, run compliance checks, and act directly in the Intune console—no switching tabs.
