Application Workspace, a part of Recast Software, Expands OEM Partnership with VMware 

Application Workspace Powers VMware’s Workspace ONE Solution, Extending Application Intelligence to macOS 

Recast Software is pleased to announce the expansion of its OEM partnership with VMware. Already a key component in VMware’s Workspace ONE for Windows applications, Application Workspace’s metadata on third party applications will now extend to macOS applications. This announcement comes as Application Workspace participates in VMware Explore in Barcelona from November 6-9, 2023. 

Extending the Enterprise App Repository to macOS 

Application Workspace’s technology has been instrumental in powering the Enterprise App Repository (EAR) in Workspace ONE for Windows applications. The repository simplifies Windows application delivery by offering a catalog of prepackaged, preconfigured, and pretested applications across various Windows OS builds.

The expanded partnership will extend the EAR to support macOS applications. Workspace ONE customers can now deploy macOS apps instantly, just as they have been doing with Windows applications. This move aligns with the needs of many customers who value a cross-platform approach to desktop management. 

Remediation of Third Party App Vulnerabilities 

The partnership also aims to enhance third party application patching for end-to-end vulnerability remediation within Workspace ONE UEM. Application Workspace’s metadata technology will enable IT admins to automatically remediate third party app vulnerabilities in both Windows and macOS within the UEM console.
