Announcing Right Click Tools Community Edition for Intune

We started Recast Software with Right Click Tools Community Edition, a free ConfigMgr add-on that quickly proved its value to SysAdmins everywhere. Since then, our software suite has expanded in scale and global usage. Now, we’re excited to announce our next step: Right Click Tools Community Edition for Intune. 

A Bridge Between ConfigMgr and Intune

IT teams today manage diverse endpoint scenarios—on-prem devices, co-managed setups, and Intune-only environments. Until now, our free Right Click Tools Community Edition has been limited to ConfigMgr. With Right Click Tools Community Edition for Intune, teams managing co-managed devices from Intune can access key right-click actions without jumping back and forth between consoles. 

What’s Included 

The Community Edition for Intune offers many of the same free features you’ve relied on in ConfigMgr, now accessible through the new browser extension: 

• Core Device Actions: Quickly perform client actions that have always been at the heart of the Community Edition. 
• Productivity Boosters: Scan for devices in ConfigMgr and Active Directory, and act on results directly—even while working in Intune’s console. 
• Compliance Checks: Run highly focused software update deployment scans, then remediate from the results. 

How It Works 

• Browser Extension: Download and install the free Right Click Tools browser extension. You’ll see familiar device and software update actions when you right-click on co-managed devices in Intune. 
• Enterprise-Only Features Visible (but not active): If you see additional tools in the extension, those come with the Enterprise edition of Right Click Tools. You can unlock them by upgrading. 

Co-Managed vs. Intune-Only 

Community Edition for Intune is fully functional for co-managed scenarios. You can leverage the free tools to manage ConfigMgr-based devices directly in Intune’s console, streamlining your workflow. While Community Edition provides a core set of free capabilities, managing Intune-only devices requires the Enterprise license (and a Recast Management Server connection). 

Getting Started with the Browser Extension

• Install the Community Extension: All users, including existing Right Click Tools Community Edition for ConfigMgr users, will need a new license. Download it here. This license will function both for Right Click Tools for ConfigMgr and Intune. 
• Explore the Possibilities: Familiarize yourself with the free tools in Intune’s interface. Monitor software deployments, run quick scans, and see how much time you save. 
• Upgrade for More Power: If you want a deeper level of control and whole-collection actions, consider upgrading to Right Click Tools Enterprise Edition.
